"SHARE YOUR STORY"

The vision for September 2011 to June 2012 is "Share Your Story." Each student has a faith story to share with those who don't have faith in Jesus. Students will be challenged in a variety of relevant ways to share their faith with their peers (no pun intended) and ask God to bring them to faith in Jesus.

Below is a quick update on LAUNCHPAD Tuesday Night's and Epicentre. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time

LAUNCHPAD TUESDAY'S

We are resuming our Tuesday LaunchPad nights from 7-9pm every Tuesday from September 6th to December 13th.

Every Tuesday night students are challenged to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ, fellowship with one another, worship God, carry out acts of service to meet the needs of others, and learn how to share their faith story with those who don’t know God. We do this in ways that are relevant and fun for Students in Grades 6 to Grade 12.

Ultimately what we want to do is Launch Students into the Mission God has for them.

Our website will have regular updated information about each Tuesday night but there are three main items to Highlight

This Tuesday Night - September 6th is our Kick Off Night. We're playing a game called Lava Monster, Whitefire will be playing, and we've got an awesome snack courtesy of the Hatashita family.

EPICENTRE - EPICENTRE - EPICENTRE

Epicentre is an evangelism initiative that is being carried out by the Billy Graham Association of Canada and several churches across the Waterloo Region and Wellington County. The purpose of this initiative is to provide fellowship, discipleship, worship, and service opportunities that will inspire the people of these regions to transform their city for Christ.

The opportunities Epicentre provides for the students of Highview to engage discipleship, worship, fellowship, serving others and learning how to share their faith is out of this world.

My hope and prayer is that Highview will be the epicentre of change in Kitchener and that students and their families will be transformed for Christ.

There are 4 main events but several others that will be spread throughout the year. We're only going to highlight one event for now:

EVENT 1: Hallofuzion
Who: Junior & Senior Students (Grade 6-12), & Parents
Date: Friday, September 30th, 2011
Cost: $35 covers all Epicentre events. Please see “The Cost” in upcoming Parent Student Communication for explanation.
Time: 6:30/6:45pm – 10pm
Drop Off/Pick Up Location: Parents drop off and picket up at Forward Baptist Church (455 Myers Road Cambridge, ON. N1R 5S2).
What: Starfield, Mark Miller, Prayer, Worship

This is our Epicentre kickoff event. Students are going to be inspired to pray and engage their friends who don’t know Jesus.

All parents are invited to come to this event. There is a special program for parents interested in learning about Epicentre, BGEAC, and what is happening to reach the regions of Wellington Country and Waterloo Region for Jesus Christ. It will provide an opportunity to pray for your child, pray for youth who don’t know Christ, and to pray for the churches of our cities.

June & The Summer

Key Dates:
Tues June 14th, 2011 - Final Regular Youth Group For The Season.
Sat June 25th, 2011 - Wonder Jam - arrive here at Highview right at 10:15am.

Tonight is our Final Youth Group Night for the Season. Students are asked to make prints of whatever pictures they have from youth events. We plan on worshipping, praying, having fun, and remembering all that God has done through the year.

On a personal note this year has been out of this world. It has been full of God's Awesome Sauce. It's been amazing to hear prayers from students, see them make spiritually informed decisions, walk with them week to week through the life issues they face, and just love each other in God's name. Student's lives have been transformed. Leaders have grown in there depth of love for the students. Parents have been so supportive. Highviewer's have all been great prayer warriors.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE SUMMER?

STAY TUNED

Good Times

God has been doing some amazing things in the lives of some new students. We have just recently had a few new students sign our "promises" that we use to keep our sense of community together as a youth group. It's awesome when that happens because it is a reflection of the fact that they care about what is happening in the youth ministry and feel they really belong.

Good times

Please see GET READY HERE MAY COMES! for all the details in May

SANCTUARY: Shannon Blake came and shared this past Tuesday about Sanctuary and all that God is doing in their church to meet the needs of the poor. We had an amazing time of worship, drama, and a great birthday cake for Starr.

PITCH: Pitch N Praise is 14 days away. It's going to be great. It's not too late to invite a friend. Contact Ian for details
